Storeganise and Mollie integration for self-storage payments

One payment gateway that now handles nearly everything, across Europe and the UK.

Storeganise's Mollie integration has grown quietly since it first launched, credit card and SEPA Direct Debit, then BACS for the UK, and now, with this update, automatic refunds, dispute handling, digital wallets, and operator-added payment methods. If you're new to Mollie on Storeganise, or you set it up a while ago and haven't checked back since, here's the full picture of what it does today.

What you can do with Mollie on Storeganise

At its core, the Mollie Add-on connects your Mollie account to Storeganise so customers can pay by credit card, SEPA Direct Debit, or BACS Direct Debit, whichever fits their site's country. Once a payment method is on file, Storeganise handles the rest automatically:

An image showing that Mollie is supported in several markets

  • Automatic billing: Invoices charge against the customer's stored payment method on schedule, no manual chasing.
  • Self-service payment methods: Customers add and update their own card or bank details from the Customer Portal, without calling the front desk.
  • Multilingual checkout: Checkout forms and mandate legal text are served in the customer's own language, covering the languages spoken across Mollie's SEPA footprint.
  • Duplicate charge protection: An invoice already charged, or already in progress, is never charged twice, even if a billing run overlaps with a pending SEPA or BACS payment.

Built for Europe, not bolted onto it

Mollie started in 2004 as a small Amsterdam side project built by a teenage developer frustrated with how hard it was to accept online payments, and grew into one of Europe's largest payment providers, reaching a $6.5 billion valuation and processing tens of billions of euros a year. Unlike payment providers built primarily for large enterprise merchants, Mollie has stayed focused on small and medium-sized businesses, with deep support for local European payment methods, iDEAL in the Netherlands, SEPA Direct Debit across the rest of the Eurozone, and BACS Direct Debit in the UK.

That local-first approach is why the Storeganise Add-on isn't just "Netherlands plus an afterthought." SEPA Direct Debit is available to non-Netherlands operators without requiring a Dutch iDEAL payment first, BACS runs as its own dedicated UK Add-on, and checkout is routed automatically based on the site's configured country. Combined with multilingual checkout support, that means an operator running sites in several European countries can offer each customer a checkout that feels local, without maintaining separate integrations for each one.

The different payment methods accepted with Mollie

Payments are catching up with what operators actually need

Self storage has been moving toward digital-first payments for a while now, and the shift is accelerating rather than slowing down. Industry researchers name digital payments as one of the areas operators are investing in most heavily going into 2026, alongside smart access and AI-assisted support. Some of that demand shows up in less obvious ways too: recent tenant transaction data shows that over a third of call center payments happen outside normal office hours, a strong signal that tenants want to pay on their own schedule, not the facility's.

The same shift is happening at the payment method level. Wallet-based payments, including Apple Pay and Google Pay, made up 29% of online transaction value across the Euro area in 2024, up from 26% just two years earlier, according to European Central Bank survey data. For operators running EUR or GBP sites, that's no longer a niche preference, it's a growing share of how tenants expect to pay.

The extra-tab problem

Payment methods were never the whole story, though. When a customer disputes a payment or asks for money back, the fix usually means leaving Storeganise, logging into a separate dashboard, and reconciling the result by hand later. Payment disputes that go unanswered are usually decided in the customer's favor, so a dispute that slips through the cracks is money you don't get back. That's the gap this update closes.

What's new: refunds, disputes, and digital wallets

  • Automatic refunds: Issue a credit note in Storeganise and the refund processes through Mollie automatically, no separate login required.
  • Dispute detection: Chargebacks and disputes mark the invoice as Failed and create a task with a direct link to the dispute in your Mollie Dashboard.
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay: Customers can pay with either wallet directly within the standard card checkout, once enabled in your Mollie Dashboard.
  • Operator-added payment methods: Add or update a customer's payment method yourself from the Management Portal, useful for walk-in customers or a call-in payment.
  • Provider migration: Bring existing Mollie customers or tokens from another gateway into Storeganise without asking customers to re-enter their details.

For operators

Fewer dashboards to check, fewer manual reconciliations, and a clear task trail every time a dispute needs attention.

For customers

More ways to pay, including the wallets already on their phone, and no re-entering payment details if their operator switches providers.

The Mollie Add-on runs on Storeganise's open API, alongside more than 30 other integrations that make Storeganise the operating system for modern self storage, and pairs well with how operators already automate their billing.
